We were asked by SRK Consulting South Africa to complete a Noise Impact Assessment (NIA) as part of a Rapid Environmental Assessment (REA) for a proposed upgrade to the Staatsolie Power Company Suriname’s 28 MW Diesel Generator Plant at the Tout Lui Faut Refinery in Paramaribo, Suriname (located in South America). The power plant is to be upgraded by a further 68 MW with the addition of four 17 MW diesel generators. Due to the nature of the REA process we dispatched a site engineer within a week of project award, monitored noise levels around the existing refinery, power plant and refinery expansion construction site for 5 days, and delivered the draft report with all completed noise mapping 2 weeks after measurements (usually a noise modelling project of this magnitude would take at least 3 to 4 weeks). This project was a great example of our ability to work across continents and deliver a quality result to our clients without compromise. |
